Marc M Cogman

After fronting rock bands in Boston and LA, Marc M Cogman began his solo career in 2007 with the independently released Welcome to the Danger Show. Supported by his backing band, The Dead Messengers, the lyric-driven songs were an instant hit with LA crowds, who came in increasing numbers to his residency at The Mint. He soon caught the attention of Geffen Records, where producer/EVP Jack Joseph Puig likened Cogman to a young Springsteen.

After Geffen's option expired without coming to a contract agreement, Cogman signed with Time-Act Music, who released his 2009 follow-up, Beneath a Balcony. One track, "Bullet" was used in the film The Tontine Massacre, helping his audience grow. However, Cogman's star didn't take off as expected and his 3rd album, Anthems, remained unreleased for years. Facing career upheaval and a split from his manager and label, Cogman spent all of 2010 on tour, playing solo shows and writing his 4th album. Released in 2014, Albatross chronicled his fall from grace in LA and his nomadic travels across the USA.

Reuniting the Dead Messengers for a show in Los Angeles in the summer of 2015, Cogman then recorded Nothing is Fantastic. Released in March 2017, it drew on his roots in mid-90's guitar-rock.

Then in December 2018 at a beach house in Oxnard, CA, Cogman reconvened the band to record an album live, all in one room together. After a mix from J.D. Andrew, the result is Dead Messengers, a return to Cogman’s Americana sound.

Dead Messengers arrives on March 20, 2020, on limited edition vinyl from Last 3 Punks and available for digital download.
