Marc M Cogman's Nothing is Fantastic is Now Available
Marc M Cogman’s 5th full-length, Nothing is Fantastic is now available from digital retailers everywhere. This record feature the reunited Dead Messengers, who convened at Contribution Studio in Culver City, California to track the record last summer.
While Cogman historically oscillates between alt-rock and Americana sounds, and he was therefore due for a rock record, Nothing is Fantastic is definitely the most rock-oriented record he’s ever made as a solo artist.
Cogman explains the soundscape as being rooted in his early band experience, “When I was forming my first bands in the mid-90’s, that was the sound we were after. We more or less used those bands and records as inspiration. Radiohead’s The Bends, Smashing Pumpkins, the first couple Our Lady Peace records. It’s definitely different, but it’s still a Marc M Cogman record. We just operated through that lens.”
As he has since 2012’s Anthems, Cogman tapped New Orleans artist Edward Carter Simon to design the album cover. “It’s my favorite one yet,” says Cogman.
The record may see a physical release in the future, but for now, Nothing is Fantastic will only be available digitally.
